INHALATIONS/AEROSOLS/NASAL DROPS
The micronized nasal shower is a therapeutic method of relatively recent introduction into thermal practice.
It stems from the need to ensure greater penetration of the thermal medium into difficult-to-access cavities such as the paranasal sinuses including the meatuses and the ethmoidal labyrinth.
This technique also allows adequate treatment of the mucosa of the nasal passages and nasopharynx with considerable reduction of the algic effects often associated with classical irrigation.
For this reason it should be preferred in forms of marked mucosal hyperreactivity.
The technique involves the pressurized introduction into the nasal passages of nebulized thermal water consisting of large aqueous particles (about 20 microns in diameter).
It is carried out by adhering a special ampoule attached to the nostrils to the apparatus via rubber tubing capable of delivering the jet of mist at room temperature into the nasal pits and collecting the waste secretions by discharging them outside.
